Big Announcement Yʻall!
On the eve of the big premiere of WESTERN at Sundance, we are seaux excited to announce BILL & TURNER ROSSʻ next big thing! Don’t know if you saw the Times this morning….
…But yep, Bill and Turner are collaborating with David Byrne(!) to make a similarly titled documentary CONTEMPORARY COLOR about this event and the making of it! Over the course of a school year, the Ross Brothers will work with high school A/V/ clubs to follow the Color Guarders and their musician counterparts as they prepare for and take the stage at an unprecedented, one-night-only spectacular at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center in June 2015. The event will involve collaborations with artists ranging from Ira Glass of This American Life to Merrill Garbus of tUnE-yArDs to Kelis, among many others.
So weʻre talking high school news show meets The Muppet Show meets road movie meets behind the scenes concert film — sort of like Dave Chappelle’s Block Party, but about color guard. And directed by the Ross Brothers. In conjunction with David Byrne. And buku other celebs. And youʻre invited.
Confused? Peep this video the Brothers and Bob Weisz made, in collabo with the good kids of Metairie Park Country Day School, to promote it! It dropped today as well!:
