Court 13 Arts is undertaking an exciting capital campaign to purchase a permanent headquarters in New Orleans, Louisiana. By providing shop and exhibition space, recycled materials, and supportive capital we can address the practical and creative needs of community-based art year-round and nurture a culture of art-making and exploration that makes projects like Beasts of the Southern Wild possible. This will be a space where connections are made, where artists work, where projects develop, and where the community comes together to experience the results.
After a year-long fundraising campaign—including a generous matching grant from Cinereach, a non-profit film production organization and key backer of Beasts of the the Southern Wild—Court 13 Arts has raised all but $68,000 needed to purchase the property outright and begin programming.
We are reaching out to people who believe in pushing the limits of how art can be made, and who it can serve. We need the right people, visionary people who see the possibility to create something truly special and unique, to join us in building this one-of-a-kind project together. With your help, we can develop a home base and a hearth for art making, filmmaking, and creative adventures in New orleans—of, by, and for the community.
