Development Coordinator

Organizational  & Position Overview

In 2012, Beasts of the Southern Wild was filmed in Louisiana. Together with a small professional crew, dozens of local, Louisiana artists came together to create this work of art. They called themselves Court 13.

Off the back of the 4 Oscar nominations the film received, the Court 13 Arts nonprofit organization was founded to give back to & forge space for Louisiana artists like those who were instrumental in the making of this film. Through cultural, educational, and mentorship programs, artist residencies, festivals, events, and the provision of affordable studios for artists who would otherwise not have access to fabrication space, we have been dedicated to the guiding principle of giving back through passion driven hard work since the organization’s official inception in 2015.

When COVID hit, a massive scale back was required to keep Court 13 alive. But now our organization has begun a new era, and we’re so excited to announce we’re hit the point of growth again: we’re ready to expand into something bigger and better than ever before!

We’re looking for someone passionate and dedicated who has a bit of love for the far fetched, the magical, the seemingly impossible - or at the very least improbable - and the drive to help us create our vision. We’re looking for a human being that believes: in the power of art, in the power of New Orleans, in the power of stories and film, and how all of these things can and do create sustainable, positive change for our home and our world. And we’re looking for the person that can communicate all of these passions (backed by data, of course) to those who will fund us!
